Starts XV Zaprešić Open

This year, the Zaprešić Bowling Club is organizing a major international bowling tournament called the XV Zaprešić Open, which, in terms of quality, is one of the strongest in the region. The qualifications will last from 23.03.2026. to 01.05.2026. and the final will be on 02.05.2026. at the Zaprešić bowling alley, Zelengaj 2.

The tournament is open to all bowlers, regardless of gender, category and quality, which gives our tournament a special charm. Every year, as organizers, we try to promote new competition formats. This will be the case this year as well. The qualifications will be played in the usual format of 120 shots (4 sets of 30 shots mixed), while the final day will be played in the CUP system, player against player, in a sprint format (10 full + 10 cleans) on the sets won. The preliminary round, round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals are played in two sets won, while the finals in all categories are played in three sets won. In the event of a tied score in a set, one shot is played in full until the winner of the set is determined.

The best 8 players from the qualifications in the men's part of the tournament will have the status of seeds in the round of 16. Players who place from 9th to 16th place in the preliminary round will play 8 players who will receive an invitation from the organizer. Invitations will be given to the best second division players, the best recreational players, the best veterans, the best young players and players based on the number of appearances.

The best 8 women in the qualifications will advance to the final part of the tournament. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will also be played in two sets won, and the final will be played in three sets won.

The two best junior women and the two best junior men from the qualifications will advance to the final, which will also be played in three sets won. We hope that the final day will be very interesting, both for the players and the audience.

From this year, we have also changed the way we book tournaments and track results. On the club's website, in the upper right corner, by clicking on "ZAPREŠIĆ OPEN", you can book a date, track the results of the qualifiers and the results of the final day. When you open the application in the upper right corner by clicking on Schedule, a calendar with dates will open. You need to select a date, time and track, enter your name, club and your contact.
